Aging

AARP is a nonprofit membership organization. AARP is there to address the needs and interests of persons 50 and older. Through information and education, advocacy and service, they seek to enhance the quality of life for all by promoting independence, dignity and purpose.

Administration on Aging - A great source for information on aging, including links to useful sources.

American Society on Aging a professional organization working towards enhancing the knowledge and skills of those working with older adults and their families.

Huffington Center on Aging - The Web site for Huffington Center on Aging at Baylor College of Medicine.

Health and Retirement Study - The ongoing study on the work to retirement transitions.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), one of the 25 institutes and centers of the National Institutes of Health, leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life.

The Institute for Health & Aging - The Institute fosters multidisciplinary collaborative research, education, and public service in the fields of aging and health.

UCLA Geronet - University of California in Los Angeles' resource bank on health and aging.

Last Acts - A national coalition to improve care and caring at the end of life.

Census Bureau - The Census Bureau's home page offers access to a variety of data and information on aging and the older population.

Center for Medicare Education - A resource for public agencies and private organizations that provide consumer education about Medicare and Medicare health plan options.

Hospice Foundation of America is a not-for-profit organization that provides leadership in the development and application of hospice and its philosophy of care. Through programs of professional development, research, public education and information, Hospice Foundation of America assists those who cope either personally or professionally with terminal illness, death, and the process of grief.

Medicare: The Official Government Site for People with Medicare - Useful information for and about Medicare beneficiaries.

National Respite Coalition - The Mission of the National Respite Coalition is to secure quality, accessible, planned and crisis respite services for all families and caregivers in need of such services in order to strengthen and stabilize families, and enhance child and adult safety.

National Library of Medicine's World Wide Web site. Every significant program of the Library is represented, from medical history to biotechnology.

The number is only valid during the year for which it is assigned.) *Note Form 843 Federal, although you can use this for the State, they (sometimes, you can never tell) prefer just a letter requesting an abatement of interest and or penalties.
